Mutaflor® is a medical food that is intended to be used under the supervision of a physician for the dietary management of ulcerative colitis (UC). Each Mutaflor® gastro-resistant hard capsule contains 2.5 – 25 x 109 viable cells (CFU) of Escherichia coli Nissle 1917. The bacteria are lyophilized (freeze-dried under vacuum) and filled into hard gelatin capsules then enteric coated for protection from digestive fluids until reaching the terminal ileum (last part of the small intestine).

Does Mutaflor contain lactose, gluten or wheat products?

Does Mutaflor need to be refrigerated?

Mutaflor should be stored refrigerated from 36-46°F. A short interruption of refrigeration (under 72 hours) does not harm the product.

How is Mutaflor shipped?
